Lladro Signature Pieces
The Links, Incorporated is celebrating 60 years of Service, Friendship, and Volunteerism in the communities of 11,000 members in 270 Chapters in the United States, Frankfurt Germany, Bahamas, and South Africa.

These three Lladro signature pieces represent African themes of Women of the Earth, and Cradle of Life. They are created in gres. The women’s dresses are based on African iconography.

Figure 1 represents an African woman sitting by a vase, and Figure 3 represents an African woman carrying two baskets.  In many African towns and villages markets are held where you can buy the typical artisan products of each village. Figures 1 and 3 are a reflection of this; an African woman is sitting next to a vase, one of the articles she is hoping to sell that day, and an African woman with two baskets – items she is hoping to sell.

Figure 2 represents an African woman is holding her baby in her arms, snuggled against her. It conveys the tenderness of the scene, with the woman's eyes on the baby in a warm, embracing posture. The graceful lines of her dress give this piece a highly distinctive style.
