On Saturday, July 2, 2011, The Central Area of The Links, Incorporated, in partnership with Regions Bank, the St. Louis Gateway Classic Sports Foundation and the Human Development Corporation, presented 2,000 disaster relief kits to the Red Cross and the United Way for Joplin, MO tornado victims. The kind act was a part of the community service project, Operation Recovery, conducted during the Central Area Conference held in St. Louis, MO. Approximately 800 Central Area members of The Links, Incorporated assembled the individual recovery kits in an effort to address the critical needs of those forced to restore their lives in the wake of devastating natural disasters. Each kit contained personal hygiene items, first aid supplies and other basic necessities donated by Links chapter members.
